Return & Exchange Policy

Due to our products being handcrafted and customized specifically for each order, we unfortunately cannot offer any refunds. However, we understand that sometimes things don’t go as planned, so we do offer exchanges or store credit for defective items only on a case-by-case basis.

If you receive a defective item and would like to initiate an exchange, please sign in to your Customer Portal and submit a return request within 48 hours of receiving the item. Please include your order number and a photo of the defective product with the defect clearly shown in the picture so we can assist you quickly. Items damaged during shipping will be rectified via direct claim with the shipping provider or applicable shipping insurance. 

For eligible exchanges, please note that all shipping costs for exchanging an item will be the responsibility of the customer and all approved exchanges will be subject to a 25% restocking fee. Items returned for exchange must be unworn and in their original packaging.

We are unable to offer returns or exchanges if you’ve simply changed your mind, ordered extra, or ordered the wrong color, size, or style, so please double-check your order details carefully before completing your purchase.

While we’re unable to offer refunds on any purchases, we’re committed to making sure you’re happy with your experience, so don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any concerns!

Processing and Shipping

All of our jewelry is carefully handcrafted and made-to-order by us, so please allow up to 5 business days for your order to be created and processed before it ships. During busy times like holidays or sales events, please keep in mind that processing may take a bit longer. We’ll always do our best to get your order out as quickly as possible, but those extra few days allow us to ensure everything is perfect before it heads your way. If you selected an upgraded shipping service, please note that this does not expedite production time, but your item will be shipped using your selected shipping method and speed.

Once your order has shipped, you’ll receive an email notification with tracking details so you can keep an eye on its progress. Shipping times vary based on your location, but typically, domestic orders will arrive within 7–10 business days after shipping. International orders may take a little longer, depending on the destination and any customs processing. Shipping carriers no longer guarantee delivery dates, and we can't either, so all delivery dates are only estimates.

Please note that we are not responsible for lost, damaged, or stolen packages. Once a package leaves our hands and enters the shipping carrier's possession, we are not responsible.  If you receive a notification that your package has been delivered but you can’t locate it, we recommend waiting a few days to see if it turns up—sometimes packages can be delayed or mistakenly delivered to a neighbor. If it still doesn’t appear, we suggest reaching out to the shipping provider (i.e. USPS) directly to file a claim and resolve any delivery issues. In the event that a package is unrecoverable after filing a claim, please reach out to us at hello@fablelaneshop.com so we can initiate a claim on the shipping insurance. We may ask you to provide a copy of your missing mail search request. Replacement of items lost in shipping will be contingent on approval of shipping insurance approval and payout.

Before placing your order, please double-check that your shipping address is correct. Once a shipping label is printed, we’re unable to make changes to the address, so it’s important to make sure everything is accurate before you complete your purchase. Product Guarantee & Warranty Policy

At Fable Lane, we’re committed to using only the highest quality materials in all of our jewelry. Most of our pieces are made with gold-filled materials, which are tarnish-resistant, or 18K PVD coated stainless steel, which is waterproof and tarnish-free. All metals can be subject to tarnishing and discoloration when exposed to moisture or chemicals. However, with proper care, your Fable Lane jewelry will last for years to come. 90-day Tarnish or Chipping Guarantee
If you’ve followed the care instructions and notice tarnishing or chipping within 90 days of your purchase, we’ll be happy to offer an exchange or store credit. To request an exchange or credit, simply email us at hello@fablelaneshop.com with your order number and a photo of the issue. Please allow at least 3 business days for us to review and process your request and reply with next steps.

This guarantee covers issues related to normal wear, but it doesn’t apply if the jewelry has been exposed to harsh chemicals, perfumes, or moisture, or has been mishandled in any way.

If your request is approved, we’ll send ask you to return the item for repair or exchange or send you a replacement piece. If the exact item is no longer available, we’ll provide a similar product of at least equal value. If you would like us to put the replacement charm/part on your necklace for you, you will be responsible for the associated shipping costs.

30-Day Assembly Guarantee
We handcraft each charm necklace with care and attention to detail, ensuring that your charms will stay intact with normal wear. We guarantee that the charm attachment will remain secure for at least 30 days from the date of purchase.

If your charms detach from your charm necklace within 30 days after your purchase, send us an email at hello@fablelaneshop.com and we will work out a solution with you.

This guarantee doesn’t cover damage caused by misuse (like pulling, tugging, or rough handling). Please treat your jewelry gently to help it last as long as possible.

Warranty Claims
If you encounter any issues covered by our warranty, reach out to us within the warranty period with your order details and a description of the problem. We may ask for photos to help us assess the situation.

Exclusions
Please note that our warranty does not cover:

  • Loss or theft of jewelry
  • Damage from improper care, misuse, or neglect
  • Modifications or repairs done by unauthorized third parties
  • Claims submitted outside of the stated warranty period

Material Information & Care Instructions

Fable Lane exclusively uses high-quality charms and chains that are meant to last with normal wear and proper care. All charms and chains are 14K gold-filled, 14K gold plated, 18K gold plated, or 18K PVD coated. The base metal is brass or stainless steel. Our products do not contain nickel or lead. All products are water-resistant and tarnish-resistant. Some products are waterproof, tarnish-proof, and hypoallergenic. The product listing will indicate which features apply!

To keep your Fable Lane jewelry looking its best for years, follow these care guidelines:

  • Remove jewelry during physical activities such as running, working out, gardening, hiking, or swimming (except for items marked as waterproof or sweatproof).
  • Avoid exposure to harsh chemicals like shampoos, soaps, lotions, makeup, and hairspray. Household items and foods that contain sulfur should also be kept away from your jewelry.
  • Limit exposure to chlorine, especially in pools, hot tubs, or spas.
  • Don't use abrasive materials such as rough cloths, towels, or even tissues, as these can scratch or damage the surface. Instead, use a soft microfiber or lens cloth for cleaning.
  • Store your jewelry in a dry, airtight place (e.g., a Ziploc bag) to prevent tarnishing. Always clean the jewelry before storing it. Use a microfiber cloth to gently wipe away oxidation and restore shine. You can also rinse your jewelry in warm water to remove oils from your skin, followed by buffing with a soft cloth. Ensure it is completely dry before storing.

FAQ

As many as you'd like (as long as there's enough links)! We recommend choosing 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, or 11 charms! Choosing an odd number ensures there is one charm in the middle and keeps it symmetrical. Smaller number of charms will generally be spaced a little further apart and more charms will create a more full and clustered look.

  • We have grouped all our charms into four size categories: mini, small, medium, and large.
  • We recommend either choosing charms of similar sizes or mixing in several of each so that the necklace looks balanced.
  • For best results, place the largest charm as the center charm.
  • The size you choose depends on personal preference!
  • Our necklace chains generally come in 3 sizes (14", 16”, and 18”). All necklace chains come with a 2” extender to give you a range of lengths. 
  • Our bracelet chains come in 4 sizes (5", 6", 7", and 8"). All bracelet chains come with a 1" extender to give you a range of lengths.

Yes, you can order only charms if you'd like! Each charm will come with one open jump ring that you can use to attach it to whatever chain you choose. The jump ring can be opened and closed using a pair of small pliers. Please note that the included jump rings are 4mm 21 gauge jump rings and may not fit all chain styles or types. If you would like to purchase additional jump rings, you can find them HERE.

All charms are attached using an open jump ring, so you could take them off, add more, or interchange them using a pair of small pliers if you'd like. However, the charms do not clip on and off.

  • All of our jewelry is crafted by our own hands after you place your order, so please allow at least 5 business days for us to create your custom jewelry.
  • Processing time may vary during holidays, sales events, or launches.

If you would like to request a digital proof of your charm necklace, please do so in the cart notes. We will send a digital proof to your email. Please reply within 24 hours with any changes you'd like made before we send it to our design team. If we do not hear back from you, we will proceed to assembly at the designer's discretion. We are unable to make any changes to the order after assembly.

You will receive an email notifying you when your order has shipped with tracking information!

Please note that we are not responsible for lost, damaged, delayed, or stolen packages. If you receive a notification that your package has been delivered but you can’t locate it, we recommend waiting a few days to see if it turns up—sometimes packages can be delayed or mistakenly delivered to a neighbor. If it still doesn’t appear, we suggest reaching out to the shipping provider (i.e. your local USPS office) directly to file a claim and resolve any delivery issues. If the tracking information shows that the package is delayed or lost, please file a request for missing mail with the shipping provider (i.e. USPS Missing Mail Search). Each package does come with some insurance in the event that it is not able to be located by the shipper.

  • Due to the custom and handcrafted nature of our products, we do not accept any returns. All sales are FINAL SALE.
  • If you received defective product or would like to submit a warranty claim as outlined in our Product Guarantee policy, please email us at hello@fablelaneshop.com and we’ll work with you on a repair, exchange, or store credit. Claims for defective product must be submitted within 48 hours of receiving the product to be considered. All other warranty requests will be handled according to our Product Guarantee & Warranty policy.

All of our jewelry is water-resistant and some is waterproof. Please check the product listing for specifics of each product. We recommend removing your jewelry for any activities that might expose it to continuous moisture, especially if ther are chemicals present (i.e. chlorinated pool or spa).

All Fable Lane jewelry is tarnish-resistant for most people. This means that it is likely to keep its color and shine for a long time when cared for properly. Some people's natural body chemistry reacts to certain base metals that causes rapid tarnishing.

Some of our jewelry is fully tarnish-free, waterproof, and hypoallergenic for most people. Please see individual product descriptions for details on each product's features.

  • Avoid exposure to chemicals 
  • Limit exposure to chlorine
  • Don't use abrasive materials to clean
  • Use a soft microfiber or lens cloth for cleaning
  • Store your jewelry in a dry, airtight place to prevent tarnishing. 
  • Regularly clean your jewelry with mild soap and water, then pat dry with a soft cloth (avoid rubbing)
